What's Up Tonight? shows everything happening near you tonight across New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in one feed: concerts, games, trivia, comedy, library events, restaurants and bars, things you can do any time, pickup games people post, and what to watch or play if you're staying in. Pick a few interests and a place, and it puts the best options first. It's free, and you don't need an account.
Need a hand? Email us and a real person will reply, usually the same day.
Email info@whatsuptonightapp.comAt first it shows events near the city your internet connection points to. For better picks, tap the location button at the top of the feed and type a town, ZIP or address, or tap Use my current location. Your location is used once to name your town; the app saves only the place you chose so it opens near you next time, never a history of where you've been.
On iPhone, if you turned location off for the app, you can turn it back on in Settings → What's Up Tonight? → Location, or just type your town instead.
No. Your interests, saves and plans are kept for you automatically. Create an account (email and password) only if you want everything to follow you to another phone or computer. Open Your profile (the round button at the top right) and tap Create account or Sign in.
Email us from the address you signed up with and we'll help you get back in.
Open Your profile and tap Delete account under Account. That removes your account, profile, photo, activity, pickup games and feedback from our servers right away, whether you signed in with an email or not. If you're on the Thursday picks email, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. To remove what's saved on your phone, delete the app or clear the site's data in your browser.
Open the game or plan and tap Report. Choose a reason, add details if you like, and send it. The person isn't told who reported them. We review every report and remove anything that breaks our Terms within 24 hours.
Don't want to see someone's games at all? Open one of their games and tap Hide games from this host.
Something wrong with an event or a place, like the wrong time or a closed restaurant? Tap Feedback on Your profile and tell us.
If someone is in danger, call 911 first.
Go to Pickup games, tap Start a game, and fill in the sport, place and time. You need to be 18 or older. The first time you post, you'll be asked to agree to our posting rules: no abusive, hateful or unsafe posts. You can cancel your game any time from its page.
Calendar: tap Calendar on an event, or Add to calendar on a finished plan. For one event, Apple's add-event screen opens so you can check the details and save. For a whole plan, the app asks once for permission to add events, then saves them all. It can only add events; it can't see what's already in your calendar.
Reminders: set a reminder on an event and you'll get a notification before it starts; tap it to jump straight to the event. The first time, your iPhone asks if the app can send notifications. If you said no, turn them on in Settings → What's Up Tonight? → Notifications. Reminders live on your phone, so they work even without a connection.
In a browser, Add to calendar downloads a calendar file that opens in your calendar app.
Listings come from venues' own calendars, town and library pages, and ticket sellers, and they refresh all day. Always check times and prices with the venue before you go. If something is wrong or missing, tap Feedback on Your profile, or email us with the link.
It uses your interests and location to pick what to show you. We never sell information that identifies you and we don't use advertising trackers. You can keep your activity out of local trends by turning off Anonymous trends on Your profile. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
